Lan Nguyen is a professional with extensive experience in environmental economics, policy, and resilience across various sectors, including academia, non-profits, and consulting. She is currently the Co-founder and Head of Science & Policy at Nuoa.io, a technology company developing innovative solutions for enterprises to track, understand, and mitigate their GHG emissions. 

Before co-founding Nuoa.io, Lan held several key roles in environmental research and policy. During her PhD in the Ecology, Evolution, Ecosystems, and Society (EEES) graduate program at Dartmouth College, Lan focuses on environmental and natural resource economics, social-ecological systems, and governance of natural resource management. Employing applied microeconomic and econometric methods, Lan is particularly interested in how policy and governance strategies influence the valuation of ecosystem services provided by mangrove forests in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. At Dartmouth, where she has served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant since 2018, she has taught and assisted in interdisciplinary courses on Marine Policy, Ecological Economics, and Vietnam’s sustainable development. 

Earlier in her career, during her undergraduate studies, Lan landed two prestigious summer research fellowships at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), a World-Renowned Marine Research Organization, and at the American Institute for Economic Research. In addition, she received a Distinguished Student Researcher Award for her field-based research paper during her study abroad field trips to Cambodia with the School for Field Studies’ Center for Mekong Studies. Before her PhD, Lan held various research positions at various organisations in Vietnam and in the United States of America including RMIT University Vietnam, The Nature Conservancy, and Key-Log Economics Vietnam.
